Ex Island

Happy Friday Dollfaces!!
What are you guys doing this weekend?

It's about 8:30 my time, I have a glass of red wine in hand, Lakers just WON, and I'm debating on what to do tonight. I met the sweetest girl through my last ex (the nightmare), and her boyfriend is in a band that is playing nearby. She invited me to go, and it sounds like so much fun. Note, she is not that close to my ex, so we have become good friends. HOWEVER, due again to satan/Facebook, I know that some of my ex's friends might show up...which means I'm afraid THE EX will be with them. Yuck. Are you following me here? I am in no mood for that awkward encounter. She says she doubts that he'd show up...but you all saw how that relationship ended-not pretty...so I think I'm going to spare myself the potential drama and explore other options for the evening. I.E. more wine and a movie. Probably Taken for the 5th time. SO GOOD.

That sucks though, right?-not wanting to go somewhere for fear you might bump into a dreaded ex. Maybe if I were in a different mood, I wouldn't care and I'd dress all hot and go toss the weave around...but not tonight. Has this happened to you guys? I think ex's should be banished to ex island or something...like you irritated me when we were together and you STILL are? Not. Cool. :)

On another note-
Seriously, you ALL are. Just sayin :) You have no idea how much your sugar brightens my days.

So I'm into 3 columns now, like a big girl! I can't take credit for this. My girl Iva at Iva Messy is a fabulous jack (jill?) of all trades and I have a girl crush on her.

I'm still tweaking things around but I hope you like it, dolls.

I also wanted to thank The Fabulicious.com for spotlighting my blog! Super honored, thank you!
Have an Unbeweavable weekend! XOXO, Liz

Party Monster

"Make-Up is a great accessory; That's the message."-Francois Nars

The Make-up at Marc Jacobs Fall 2009 RTW was out of control, in the best way possible. Jacobs was able to lure Francois Nars out of a TEN YEAR fashion show retirement and, together with Guido Palau, created a total 80's club kid vibe. The hair and make-up complemented a collection full of shoulder pads, acid wash, studded leather, and velvet bustiers. Being a child of the 80's, it's so fun to see all this coming back in such a fresh way. Will I ever rock high-waisted acid wash jeans (again)? Never say never, I guess...

Hair that defied gravity, smooth skin and black rimmed eyes were unified elements seen on the runway.

Lids were either left bare or filled in with bold hues like fuchsia, emerald greens, bright blues, purples and even reds. Take a risk!
"There is always a wide variety of colors. It's what looks right on the girl."-Francois Nars

Francois Nars is one of my Make-up GODS, and I'm so glad Marc Jacobs was able to get him back to fashion week. Who can say no to Marc Jacobs, right?

"Have fun. You want to play with make-up." Francois Nars

The title of this post stems from one of my favorite books 'Disco Bloodbath' by James St. James which was turned into a movie titled "Party Monster." It is the true life account of the rise and fall of 80' infamous NYC party promoter Michael Alig, the "King of the Club Kids." Check it out, it's amazing (but not for the faint of heart, it's pretty gritty). The looks from Marc Jacobs reminded me so much of this film, I can totally see the models strutting out of club Limelight in NYC rockin their shoulder pads and red eye shadow. Love it!

I hope you are all having a very colorful and fabulous day, dolls! XOXO, Liz

If I die, he did it...

Hi Dolls...so this must be the week of putting myself way out there. There are 2 things I usually don't talk about-Anonymous of my previous post and....ewww...weight.

I am overall ok with my body. We have our ups and downs, literally, but I've learned to embrace my assets. HA. I don't eat that much, honestly probably due to stress, and when I do eat...check out my sisters blog. She thinks she's funny.

I've decided that being just "ok" with something isn't working for me anymore. Relationships, career...I'm not settling for just ehh. So I'm kicking it up a notch in all aspects of my life, so I can be the best Liz for ME.

I recently stumbled upon the opportunity to be personal trained by a former Mr. Asia. Tonight is our first session and I'm terrified. Meet my trainer/killer!!
I'm really excited...he's the kind of guy who I can text at 2am when I am on the verge of a tipsy Del Taco run. He's also the kind of guy who is going to kick my ass into Saturday and probably make me cry.

I was thinking of who my "body-spiration" is...and I wanted to find someone real, someone with boobs because umm hello, and someone who looks healthy but super fit. I came across this picture of Kourtney Kardashian, and it's really inspiring me. I feel like it's a realistic goal for me.
Oh it's going to hurt soooo goooood. I hope I can walk tomorrow.
XOXO, Liz

Hair Do's!

Dolls...you never cease to amaze me. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your sweet comments and emails regarding my last post. It was floating around in my head all weekend, and it felt so good to get it out. Besos x a million to all of you.

Real quick-three of my favorite girls are doing KILLER giveaways! Hanako66 at Through The Looking Glass ,Iva at Iva Messy and Rachel at Rachel's Pink Thoughts. Check them out, they are all FABULOUS!

So the name of my blog stems from my completely vain and unapologetic obsession with my hair. BFF Istvan saw me one day and proclaimed me Unbeweavable...and a blog name was born. I am really high maintenance when it comes to my hair, for awhile I was the girl getting blowouts a few times a week, but yeah...that gets really expensive. And I like shoes too...

I have been asked if I have extensions. To quote Big from SATC "absofuckinglutely!" I love them. No shame in my game! If you have any questions about extensions, different methods, etc...let me know!

These are a few of my favorite ways to wear my hair lately-

Messy loose curls, also known as "after a roll in the hay hair"(wink wink)-this is how I usually do my hair on a daily basis. My tips are below!
Adding a little braid is always fun. I think we've all seen this lately on the Hills, right? I don't know if that's a good or bad thing, but for me it's just a little something fun to do when I put my hair in a ponytail. Makes me feel less lazy :)
The messy, messy ponytail is my favorite! This is fabulous for days when your hair is too crazy to wear down but you don't have time to start from scratch. Ponytails like this work much, much better on un-washed hair, anyway. Adding a little headband at the roots gives lift AND, if you're growing out bangs or have long, side bangs like I do, this will keep them out of your face!
Updo's don't always have to be tight and severe...I love the height of this style, and I love how it looks a bit messy but still formal. The make-up is fierce too...Make-Up post coming soon. :)
Pulling a ponytail just halfway through its fastener gives it new shape. Create a deep side part, then sweep the sides back and clip them in place behind your ears with a thin barrette or bobby pin. Next, make a low ponytail, but pull the tail only halfway through the elastic on the final loop. Use your fingers to loosen the hair gently above the band, and spray like a mutha!
Pining a bit of hair off the face reminds me of Catherine Deneuve...so 1960's chic. My tips for this are to make sure that you pull a wide section of hair back, temple to temple is what I like to go by and secure it behind the crown. You can also tease the front section before pinning it back to get height. This is another great one for you if you have bangs that are buggin!
Ok so this is me...as you know...I'm just using this picture because it's my fav of my hair.Between being a make-up artist for many years, and being both in front and behind the camera, I've learned a few things about hair that I thought I'd share with you!

My Unbeweavable tips (extensions or not)...
-Find a really good shampoo and conditioner that caters to your hair type. I only use Pureology or Kerastase. I have found that spending a bit of extra money on shampoo and conditioners is actually worth it, for me at least.

-Unless you absolutely must, DO NOT shampoo your hair everyday. I usually go 3 days. "Dirty" hair is better for updo's and shampooing everyday can really dry out your hair. Just condition the ends in the shower! TRUST ME! :)

-On this note, dry shampoos have come along way. Some days my ends are perfection but my roots look a little too dirty...I am obsessed with Rene Furterer Natura Dry Shampoo. The link above takes you to Sephora.com, where I'd suggest buying it because anytime I go into a store to get it, it's sold out and that's really irritating...

-I use a flat iron to curl my hair. It's actually easier for me to do than using a curling iron. I am curling iron challenged, but this works even better, I think! This is the flat iron I use-if you are going to be flat ironing/curling every day, I really suggest investing in a high quality tool to prevent damage. It's all in the flick of the wrist! :)-A few other favorite products
Frederic Fekkai Glossing Cream
Gabby and I have been using this for years, and it's always on the top 10 lists, etc. It's perfect for smoothing out any frizz and smells so yummy. My only tip with this one-use sparingly!! And don't let it near your roots, ends only!

See, not everything is expensive! This is like 5 bucks and it's AMAZING, and I'm a hair spray whore! The best thing about it is that it doesn't get all crunchy and nasty no matter how many times you use it during the day and into the night! I've tried really expensive ones, but this is my staple! And you can get it at TARGET! Yay!

I hope you all had a fabulous day! XOXO, Liz

Overjoyed

“ You don’t recognize the biggest day of your life, not until you’re right in the middle of it. The day you commit to something or someone. The day you get your heart broken. The day you meet your soul mate. The day you realize there’s not enough time, because you wanna live forever. Those are the biggest days. The perfect days. You know?"
Dear Anonymous,
Your brother got married this weekend. Congratulations. I know because I saw the pictures online...these days you can't ever really get away from someone with myspace and facebook and twitter...etc. How do you ever get a clean break in this day and age? Crazy kids and their technology, right? I looked. I saw. I felt...hollow.

The pictures from the rehearsal hurt my heart. Your arms are crossed as you stand up there, supporting your brother. I haven't talked to you in so long but I know exactly what you're thinking. I can see it in your eyes. You just want it to be over, you want to check your phone (Iphone, of course), you want to escape to your hotel room to work on some music, but you're putting on a happy face, because you do care. You probably thought of me. You were mad at yourself for thinking of me. If I had been there you would have caught my eye...and we would have had one of those conversations we so often had, without saying a word at all.

I remember back when he started dating her. We talked so much shit on her. But then again, when weren't we talking shit...and laughing, and inside jokes. Remember how we said there was a bubble around us? You didn't like her, said there was no way she'd be around very long. I thought she seemed sweet, but boring. We would hide when they were around, they annoyed us. WE were the ones who were going to make it, we were the ones who were really in love...I was the one who was going to be there for good...right? We didn't take them seriously. They couldn't possibly understand a love like OURS. We had our first dance song picked out-"Overjoyed". You surprised me with a puppy. The cutest puppy. In the end, you kept our puppy. Later on, I would see pictures of her kissing the dog that was once mine on myspace. She was still in the family. Again...hollow.

You bought me an engagement ring. Exactly what I wanted. It was beautiful. You were so nervous. Things happened. I broke your heart. And then we turned into dust. I don't often think of what could have been, because well...you know. Some things just can't be fixed. You should know that you are still, somehow, the love of my life. Would I go back and change things...yes. Regret is not how we live, and we've both moved on and loved since and will again...but damn, I miss you.

All I know is that I was thinking what you were thinking at that moment, this weekend. That could have been us. Should have been us, perhaps. But now I'm putting you back where you've been, in my past. It's like running back into a burning house when there is really nothing left to save. Except this time I'm finally sealing it with an I'm sorry. It's an I'm sorry you'll probably never read, but for me had to be said.

She looked beautiful. Your brother is so happy. Your family must be overjoyed.
Besos, Me

Hot Topics

Hi Dolls! I took a day off from the computer to let the eye heal, and I'm much, much better.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the well wishes and offers to bedazzle me eye patches, and the links to eye-patch sellers on Etsy. Who knew? Maybe we're on to something here...

Earlier this week I was discussing with my real life bestie Chrystina how we never win anything-not meaning blog giveaways, just in general. Or, like the Lotto. Whatever.

Well, watch what you wish for people! The next morning I woke up to a...very... shall we say...satisfying, email from the HILARIOUS and sweet Lilu at Live It, Love It telling me I had won her latest Giveaway! Thank you doll! If you haven't checked out her blog, you must go now!

If you want to see what I won, click here. And that's all I'm gonna say about that. :)

Want to know what really...turns me on though? A sexy as hell dress...and who does them the best...BALMAIN. The fuchsia one is featured in May's Allure (with Blake Lively on the cover in which she rocks the hell out of some Alexander Wang) and it might be in the running for the dress I wear when I marry Adam in Vegas (see Sidebar). Any of these will do though...

Can I get them both? :)

IT'S THE LAST DAY TO ENTER MY AS SEEN ON THE BACHELORETTE ETSY PENDANT GIVEAWAY!

The response has been super positive, I'm so glad! I'll announce the winner tomorrow by 12pm PST. I'm really excited!

Ok, I'm off to read your blogs!

Long weekend coming up! What are you dolls up to? I may or may not be going to Palm Springs. THAT is a whole other blog in itself. Ay yi yi! :)

LOTS OF LOVE, Liz XOXO

Ohh and I've received some emails/comments about what lipstick I am wearing in the below post-It's MAC Viva Glam 3 with a little Nars Orgasm Gloss in the middle of the bottom lip.

Trainwreck Tuesday-Jokes On ME!

Oh Dolls...
I'm not doing my standard "Trainwreck Tuesday" because really...I am enough of a red hot mess today that I don't feel the need to put anymore negativity out into the universe. Plus, douchie celebrities and weirdos will be here next week-they're not going anywhere.

-I have a scratched cornea. Apparently this is one of the most painful injuries an adult can have. It literally feels like someone is repeatedly stabbing me in the eye with a serrated knife. It's making it very difficult to get any work done, and this blog is probably the last thing I should be doing, but whatever. My blog makes me happy, you make me happy, so the rules can suck it.

-Do Herve or Christian (Louboutin, Dior, who-cares) design eye-patches? I thought maybe I would wake up to an email from Gilt or Hautelook..."Today EYE PATCHES..." not so much.

Here's me with one eye. No pics from today...are you kidding me? -QUESTION-Why is it that when one is basically blind and wakes up from a drug induced "nap" at around 9:30 last night still wearing normal clothes and starts looking for a comfy tshirt to pair with her VS sweats (yes, they say PINK on the bum), that all the T-shirts I can seem to find are ex boyfriends? Why did this piss me off so much? I know I'm not a T-shirt kind of girl, but everyone has their T-shirt, tank top, cami drawer...why the hell could my one eye only pick out these particular shirts?! So. Annoying.

-In happier news...I caught the end of the Bachelorette last night, and I think Jillian is adorable! There were some Trainwreck Tuesdays in that group of guys, wow. I really like her though. Shameless plug- have you entered my "As Seen on the Bachelorette Etsy Pendant Giveaway" yet? Ends on Friday!

I started thinking about what would cheer this total pirate of a girl up, and of course-Net-a-Porter. And Christian Louboutin. I NEED THIS BAG. It matches EVERYTHING. It perked me right up! I mean, it looks good out of one eye... :)

I hope you are all having a fabulous, Trainwreck free Tuesday. Lets "look" at the bright side of things today! Well, not me, bright lights make me want to scream in pain, but you know what I mean!
Oh, and no silly scratched cornea will stop me from swinging by your blogs. I have my priorities in order.
(Comforter picture was jacked from my cool sisters blog. I think I'm going to try to DIY this one, isn't it amazing?!)
Besos! XOXO, Liz
(Gooooo Lakers!)
